Finally, there are the printing costs for our publications and the DNA tests in the USA and in Great Britain are the biggest and therefore "heaviest" budget factor.
In 2014 and 2015, we finally decided that offering as many and creative things as possible – musician gifts and gifts for music fans – in a Bach Shop would have two advantages. First, we refinance at least a part of the expenses with it. However, it seemed just as important – also in the spirit of our Mission – that original Bach gifts such as Bach books, Bach tin figures, two Bach beer steins, Bach busts, Bach calendars, fine Bach wooden figurines as well as the Bach Coloring Book also help to spread the word about the project. Preferably among teachers, educators and also among students.
Above a certain print run, each individual book becomes much more affordable to produce. But the amount needed to finance it then logically becomes higher and higher. However, the more books that leave our house at the print price, the more likely we are to get back the amount that simply hurts for a reasonable print run. We are not a Publishing House with time clocks and delivery vehicles, but just two creative people, one of whom writes and the other "does the rest." With every Bach Biography for Children that leaves our house again, we get the funds back for new subprojects.
